RainCaper is dedicated to bringing you gorgeous and smart travel essentials for your lifestyle. Our designer Jan opened a retail store called Flag Lady Gifts in 1992 and she and her daughter Lindsay loved serving local customers for 24 years. It was a wonderful and rewarding time and we enjoyed being a part of our local small business economy.
In order to spend more time with our children and grandchildren, we launched RainCaper in 2016 with just six colors. We now offer many collections: Classic & Fine Art travel capes, WarmCaper for cooler weather, touch screen gloves, and reusable face masks! In 2021, we launched Accent, a line of artfully inspired gifts for home & entertaining.
We're proud to work with hundreds of independent retailers across the country that carry RainCaper. RainCaper is an active member of the Museum Store Association, and many of our custom designs can be found in museums and cultural institutions throughout the country. Our family-run business is located in the suburbs of Philadelphia. We are here to serve you, so please reach out at any time!
Best regards,
Jan & Lindsay

Jan is the Designer behind the gorgeous RainCaper prints, and she loves creating custom capes, umbrellas, and other products for many of our stores and museums. Perhaps most importantly, she's Lindsay's mother, and the visionary force behind RainCaper. Jan and her husband are art aficionados. They have a particular soft spot for the American Impressionism school of art, including artists that you'll see represented at RainCaper such as Louis C. Tiffany, Childe Hassam, and Maurice Prendergast. They also appreciate hyperlocal Pennsylvania Impressionists, including Walter Schofield, Fern Coppedge, William Glackens, and Edward Redfield.
Lindsay keeps things running smoothly and loves networking, managing relationships, and systems improvement. Lindsay enjoys fabulous food, cooking, and has tried her hand at winemaking, sourdough baking, applesauce, and fresh jams. She and her husband met while playing rugby at Northwestern, and they raise their three daughters outside of Philadelphia. She's mostly retired from rugby, and frequents a local family-owned gym instead.
