What makes a perfect coffee cup? Is it the fine art design that makes this ceramic mug a sweet and thoughtful gift for mom, a friend who loves art, or a colleague who always starts their day with a cup of tea? Is it the satisfying details like the artist's signature on the inside of the cup, the smooth porcelain that feels good in your hand, or the fact that you can easily toss it in the dishwasher? Whatever the reason, our fine art coffee mug has the je ne sais quoi to become your everyday favorite. This 11 oz ceramic mug will keep your coffee or tea hot and start your morning off with a masterpiece.
The fine art design is based on Stables by Franz Marc, painted in 1913. This expressionistic work shows a group of horses in their stable, with their swishing tails facing the viewer. Horses were Marc's favorite subject, and he painted them many times, becoming less and less concerned with depicting the actual shapes of the horses and more interested in the composition of the scene as a whole. In this piece, the horses are only visible as abstract shapes within a forest of diagonal planes and bold reds, oranges, blues and greens.
